About this session

This session, led by Dr. Thomson K. Mathew, professor emeritus and former dean of the College of Theology and Ministry at Oral Roberts University, will (1) examine the impact of globalization on church ministry and global mission, (2) present a biblical model of intercultural ministry based on the first Pentecostal congregations described in the New Testament, and (3) devotionally reflect on the role of the Holy Spirit in establishing churches and expanding God’s kingdom.

Dr. Thomson K. Mathew is professor emeritus and former Dean of the College of Theology and Ministry at Oral Roberts University (ORU) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. A third-generation Pentecostal minister from India, Dr. Mathew is a graduate of four universities including Yale and ORU. Prior to his service at ORU, he served as a pastor in New Haven, Connecticut and as a chaplain in Tulsa. His books include Spirit-led Ministry in the 21st Century and Prayer, Medicine, and Healing. He is now involved in developing DMin programs in three Pentecostal seminaries in India. Rev. Mathew and wife Molly are parents of two daughters and grandparents of two boys.
